Dr. Clark at workEducation and Training

I attended American River Junior College in Sacramento, California, then went to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. After serving a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon), I attended the College of Physicians and Surgeons (Now University of the Pacific) in San Francisco California. I graduated third person from the top of my class in 1966. My average score on the National Dental Boards was in the 92nd percentile.

I passed the California State Dental Board and practiced in Pleasanton California for ten years, leaving there in 1966. After passing the New Mexico State Dental Examining Board, my family and I moved to Corrales, New Mexico in 1976. I have been practicing at my present location at 3613 NM HWY 528, suite G, Albuquerque for the last 23 years.

Professional Associations and Organizations

I have been a member of the American Dental Association for thirty-three years, and have been a member of the Albuquerque Dental Society for twenty-three years. I have also been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, an organization that promotes continuing education in all areas of general dentistry, for over 25 years. I have been a member of the Academy of LDS Dentists, a service and educational organization, for five years.

Slick Rock in Moad Personal Interests and Activities

I have been married to Joan A. Clark for thirty-five years, and we have six children, ages ranging from thirty three to seventeen years old. We have a home in Corrales where we have three horses, six goats, two dogs, two cats, two doves, and occasional skunks, roadrunners and farm-yard birds. I take care of eighty-one rose bushes (my babies), three other flower beds, and usually a vegetable garden.

I am the executive director the the New Mexico Coalition Against Gambling, an organization of hundreds of churches, public interest organizations and businesses. I am on the executive board of the National Coalition Against Legalized Gambling, and will the the Vice-chairman, starting in January of 2000.

St. George MarathonBesides digging ditches, flower beds and shoveling horse manure, I have a few other physical activities. I am a long-distance runner, having completed three official marathons in the last fifteen years, plus lots of half-marathons and 10 kilometer races. I have a really gorgeous Mongoose IBOC mountain bike and have done a moderate amount of riding in a few states. I do some sail-boarding in lots of New Mexico's lakes and elsewhere. I probably also spend entirely too much time on the computer, and helped put this WEB site together.
